Born in Hoboken, on March 9, 1930, she is the youngest of 10 children to Anthony and Josephine Grato. Julia was a long time resident of Secaucus, working at the Secaucus library for 20 years, a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church of Secaucus, and volunteer at Hudson Regional Hospital. She loved watching the New York Yankees, gardening, crocheting and sewing, the beach, but most of all spending time with her family, whom she cherished most of all.
She leaves behind her four children; daughter Joann and husband Larry Donnelly, son Louis and wife Valerie DeFazio, daughter Judith and husband Michael Matson, and daughter Donna and husband David Miller, as well as her 6 grandchildren; grandson Jason and wife Diana Donnelly, granddaughter Lauren and husband Vincent Conte, granddaughter Gina and husband Matthew Laufer, grandson Vince and wife Mallory DeFazio, and grandsons Mark and Matthew Miller. She is also survived by her great grandchildren JJ and Joey Donnelly, Dominic Conte, Ruby and Quinn Laufer, and her great grand-dog Jax.
The visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 13, from 4 - 8 p.m. at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Rd, Secaucus. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at 10:45 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, Secaucus. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum, North Arlington.
