Robert Lloyd Jones, “Bob”, a retired General Contractor will always be remembered as the cowboy everyone wanted to be. Bob passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at the Warm Springs Hospital in New Braunfels, Texas. He was 68 years old.
Bob was born in Butte Montana on July 24, 1946 to Robert Earl and Marie (Verling) Jones. In his youth he worked as a shepherd in Wyoming, going out with his brother for four to five days at a time, living entirely off the land as they worked. Bob joined the US Air Force and served in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Bob was a general contractor in residential and all forms of construction for 24 years. One of his proudest projects was having worked on ZDT Family Fun Center in Seguin. He loved to cook, putting together odds and ends to make fantastic meals with the help of “his Little Sous Chef’, his daughter Tiffany. When his children were younger, Bob would sit them on his lap and drive up and down the street in his red t-top Oldsmobile. He met his life partner of 24 years, Joann Smith, while living in the same community through mutual friends.
Robert will be greatly missed by his companion Joann Smith; daughter Sandy Hamilton and her husband Tony of Clearfield, Utah, daughter Angela Jones and her husband Nate Erwin of Far West Utah; Son Robert Wade Jones and his wife April of South Weber, Utah; daughter Tiffany Bright and her husband Justin of Fort Dix, New Jersey; former wife Linda Jones of Sunset, Utah as well as his grandchildren Rend Nichols, Ashley Hamilton, Sky’leigh Jones, Kadin Hamilton, Kacy Hamilton, Michael Jones, Logan Jones, Gerrin Bright and great-grandson Whyatt Hamilton.
