Glades Marie Warden

Mrs. Glades Marie Warden, age 81, of Okolona, Kentucky, returned to her Heavenly Father Friday, September 26, 2025. Mrs. Warden was born April 14, 1944, in Eolia, Kentucky, to the late Lonis and Opal “Boggs” Sturgill. Mrs. Warden was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family.  Glades was a proud retiree of General Electric, where she worked for over 30 years. She was a loving and caring soul. Glades will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Among those who preceded her in death is her loving husband, Larry Warden; parents; sister, Gadie Shepherd; and great granddaughter, Alayna Swartwood. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Douglas Warden and Rita Swartwood; grandchildren, Dylan Swartwood and Meagan Swartwood; great grandson, Atticus Swartwood; great granddaughter, Rosemary Swartwood; siblings, Verna Sturgill, Millie Short, Mitchell Sturgill, Harry Sturgill (Shirley), Connie Stith (David) and Calvert Sturgill (Ila); numerous nieces and nephews; and host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00pm noon on Wednesday, October 1st, 2025, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, Mt. Washington (123 Winning Colors Drive, Mt. Washington, Kentucky.) with burial at Highland Memory Gardens. Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 10:00am until the time of service at the funeral home.
