Nora Akers Burnette

Mrs. Nora Akers Burnette, age 91, of Louisville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Friday, August 2, 2024. Mrs. Burnette was born in Dana (Floyd County), Kentucky on September 26, 1932 to the late Francis Marion Akers and Pearlie Rose Akers. She was a devoted member of Little Flock Baptist Church and a loving and cherished mother and grandmother. 

In addition to her parents, her beloved husband, Clifford Erwin Burnette; and her siblings, Jean, Fred, Bill, Pat, Earl, Iness, Faye, Vance, Lacy, Carl, Florida and Retta.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Sandra Lanham, Linda Cecil (Paul), Rick Burnette (Lynn), Rebecca “Becky” Ann Martin (Freddie); grandchildren, Monique, Penny, Chris, Sonya, Holly, Amanda and Brett; great-grandchildren, Trey, Jacob, Lindsey, Kyle, Olivia, Kylie, Victor, Zoe, Ava, Scarlett, Drake, Lydia, Josh, Dylan, Rosie and Ruby; a host of nieces, nephews and other dear family and friends. 

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Tuesday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Wednesday from 9:00 am until the time of her service at 10:00 am at the funeral home.
