Sammy Neil Burnley, Jr., 73, was born March 18, 1947 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Sammy N. Burnley, Sr. and Lucille Attaway Burnley. Butch, as his family and friends lovely called him, went to be with his Lord July 28, 2020. A celebration of his life will be held Friday, July 31, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108 with his nephew, Pastor James A. McMenis officiating. The Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. the day of services. Interment will follow. Butch loved his family over everything. He was the best father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He had many careers in his life, he knew you had to work hard to get where you want to go and he instilled that in both of his children. He was the kindest man and he made friends wherever he went. Everyone he knew has an amazing story to share. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Sam, Sr. and Lucille; his sister, Terrie King Guerra; his brother, Wade Burnley; and his grandson, Timothy Philyaw. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Earline Burnley, and their two children, Sharon Burnley Philyaw (Timmy) and Chris Burnley (Kelly), along with his sisters Susie Burnley Clinger, Ruby Burnley Pinkston, and Lisa Burnley Stewart and his brother Gary Burnley. Butch is also survived by four grandchildren April Philyaw Gamez (Tomaz), Jonie Philyaw Goins (James), Hayden Burnley, and Hollyn Burnley. Butch is survived by his eleven great-grandchildren TJ, Abby, Keily, Chelsi, Madison, Branson, Collin, Mia, Kenzie, Olivia, and Hadley. Honoring Butch as Pallbearers will be Chris Burnley, Timmy Philyaw, Tomaz Gamez, TJ Gamez, Allen Philyaw, and Kim Burnley. Honorary Pallbearers are Hayden Burnley and Branson Gamez.

Butch was a kind and dear friend he was always smiling and good to all he and his wife lived about 1/2 block from my husband Wayne and I when we passed his house he always Waved at us he was a friendly man you gonna be missed Butch
