Sandra Kay Posey

Sandra Kay Posey, 78, went to be with her Lord on September 6, 2016 in Shreveport, LA after a lengthy illness. Life Celebration services for Sandra will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 10:00am at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 from 5:00-7:00pm at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow W. and Una Mae Wise; husband, Travis R. Posey; and nephews, Woody Hicks and Barry Mayes. She is survived by her son, Edward DeFriend; sisters, Sharon Washburn, and Judy Mayes and her husband Clayton; nieces, Kimberly Whitehead and husband Randy, and Kathleen Sherwood; great-nieces, Jessica Davidson and husband Adam, Sara McCouskey and husband Adam, and Emily Mayes and fiancé Adam; great great-nieces, Zoe and Chloe Davidson; and numerous cousins.

Sandra Posey was a bright spirit who touched the lives of many people. She volunteered her time as a member of the Parent’s Association at the Arc of Arcadia Bossier in support of her much loved son Edward. She will always be remembered as a woman who fought the good fight and never let anything deter her from being the best mother, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and great great-aunt she could be.

The family would like to thank: Heritage Manor South, the nursing staff on Hall 3, Hospice with Life Path, and the 8th floor nursing staff of Willis Knighton Piermont for all of their kind care of Sandra.
