Ahniwake Fleming

On Sunday, June 17, 2018, L. Ahniwake Fleming, of Adelphi, MD. Beloved wife of the late Joe Lindsey Fleming. Cherished mother of Susie (Bobby) Harjo; Frank (RoseMarie); R. Lee; and Joe Lindsey Jr. Fleming. Sister of Thomas Gann Miller. Daughter of the late Robert Lee Miller and Susie Hilderbrand. She is predeceased by her infant daughter and her siblings James Avery; Jackson Lee; John Andrew Miller; Quanah Lee and Martha Ann Miller. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. She had a love for education and was an elementary school teacher for over 30 years. A Cherokee Nation citizen, she graduated in 1939 from Chilocco Indian School in Oklahoma where she gained life long sisters and brothers of the heart. She also held degrees from Oklahoma State University and University of Maryland. Visitation services will be held at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home 11800 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20904 on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm. Memorial services will be at Colesville Presbyterian Church 12800 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20904 on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 11 am.
