My sincere condolence to Dave's family, I worked many years with and for Dave, he was the best boss anyone could ask for. I will never forget his wonderful attitude and fairness to all his employees. Will never forget our annual Christmas dinners, and cookouts at his and Ellies camp. Thanks for all the memories.

Patty and Mike,
Maine Agriculture has lost one of it’s finest in your Dad.
I am proud to call him an associate,a mentor and a dear friend.
He was a “rock” with a wealth of knowledge, compassion, wisdom and a dry Maine humor. He is already missed.
He taught a lot of us wet behind the ears kids at Agway.
He and your Mom were always so welcoming and kind to me and I would give anything to have another Sunday cookout at the camp on Great Moose Lake.
Know that he touched many, many lives in a positive and lasting manner over his many years of service to Maine Agriculture.
You are not alone in your grief and try to find comfort knowing he had a positive, lasting affect on the farm community.

So sorry to learn of Daves passing. We always liked to chat with him and will miss his friendly wave on the way by or going to the mailbox. Will also miss him letting us raid his corn field. Dave was the best neighbor anyone could ask for. We will miss him very much. Near by if we can help. Take care. Jeff @ Sally Rogers.

Dave was a great man. He was one of my mentors and a strong influence in my life. There were several years that I probably spent as many waking hours with him as the family did and we were usually about ten feet apart for most of each day. Yes, you get to know people well in that situation! I always enjoyed his sense of humor. From Monday morning conversations, I feel like I know the snowsled trails of western Maine, and even Canada pretty well, even though my lifetime miles on a snow mobile don't total up to what Dave and Ellie did on most weekends!
I have deep respect for his way with people and the leadership he provided to a lot of us. He was a quiet, but great, asset to the agricultural community of Maine for many years.
