Born in Montreal, Canada the daughter of the late William and Jessie Lillian (Reid) Marks she grew up there and came to America after her marriage to Fred. She was a member of the Smith Neck Friends Meeting House.
Mrs. Hutchings was an educator in Montreal and later at the Air Force Base in Bourne, MA. She later worked as a seamstress.
She and her family enjoyed traveling, camping and she enjoyed sewing. She and her husband traveled the world, and all through the United States and Canada. She enjoyed her time volunteering for the National Park Service doing reenactments and particularly proud of learning how to fire a black powder musket.
Brenda enjoyed figure skating with the precision team, Mother's Revenge, drinking tea with her Knit n' Bitch crew, and bowling within a Jewish Bowling League. She was a member of the South Coast Motorcycle Club. She won her first motorcycle at a Johnny Cash concert.
Her loving family will remember her compassion, love, kind heart, gentle nature, her wisdom, organizational skills, resiliency, happiness, stubborn nature, talents and the fact she would provide to others before herself.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Bruce Hutchings of Providence and a daughter, Sonja Robinson of Bellingham; and a granddaughter, Aida.
Her memorial visitation will be Saturday, January 19, 2019 10 am to 1 pm in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME at DARTMOUTH, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth with a service at 12 noon. Burial will be private.
