Robert Joseph Rimm

Robert Joseph Rimm was born on March 22, 1928 to Benjamin and Mabel (Whiteley) Rimm, he and his brother, Charles B. Rimm grew up in White Plains, NY. Unfortunately, both his parents and his brother and the love of his life, Marie(who just died on December 8, 2019) have predeceased him.

Bob, as he was best known by, graduated from White Plains H.S. in 1945, served our country proudly in the Navy just before the armistice was signed, ending WW2. Bob went to Westchester Community College, Iona College and Pace, majoring in accounting. He met his wife, Marie Colville and married her during the winter break. Bob worked for Con Edison for 2 years and General Precision Laboratory before joining the staff of four at a new company called Curtis Instruments, as the assistant treasurer and purchasing agent. He was best known for being a true accountant and watching every penny. His favorite words were” do you want it or do you need it?” He worked closely with the owner of Curtis until his retirement after almost 30 years in 1991 as Treasurer.

Bob is survived by his five children: Robert Jr. (Susan) of Garrison, NY, William (Marie) of Conway, SC, Thomas (Susan) of Jamison, PA, Margaret/ Peggy (Eugene Lockwood) of Blooming Grove, NY, and Kevin (Tammy) of Dandridge, TN and his sister-in-law, Virginia (Kelly) Rimm of Maine. He will also be greatly missed by his ten Grandchildren: William, Christopher, Jennifer, Andrew, Steven Holland, Eugene Lockwood, Christine Lockwood, Sean Lockwood, Samantha Rimm Pilkerton and Elizabeth Rimm Brown, along with his great-grandchildren: Allison, Ashley, Joshua, Layla, Liam, Nathaniel, Haley, with two more due in April and his seven Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on February 25, 2020 at St. Cyril of Jerusalem Church, 1410 Almshouse Road, Jamison, PA 18929. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: The Leukemia Society, 404 BNA Drive, Bldg 200, Suite 102, Nashville, TN 37217 In memory of Robert and Marie Rimm.
