Born on June 23, 1944 in Waterbury, CT, he was the son of the late Antonio and Sylvia (DeHippolytis) Varuolo. He was also predeceased by his brother, Joseph Varuolo.
Tony attended Queens College and had a lifelong career as a Chemist, most recently working for MacDermid, before retiring in 2006.
Tony was a member of the Lions Club in Watertown for over 30 years, and recently became a member of the Lions Club in Southington. He enjoyed freshwater fishing, spending time with family, and was an avid Giants fan and season ticket holder.
Besides his wife of 42 years, he is survived by his sons, Anthony J. Varuolo, Jr. of Caldwell, NJ, Christopher M. Varuolo, Sr. and wife, Kim, of Islip Terrace, NY; daughter, Susan Blakey and her husband, Robert, of Wallingford; grandchildren, Christopher M. Varuolo, Jr. and Oliver J. Blakey; brother, Richard Varuolo and his wife, Doreen, of East Stroudsburg, PA and sister-in-law, Barbara Varuolo, of Hawthorne NY. Tony also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Calling hours will be Monday from 10am-12pm at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Due to the current pandemic, face mask coverings and social distancing are required at all times. Burial will immediately follow at St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington.
