Norman Joseph Giroux, 72, of Southington -- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Norman Giroux due to complications from surgery. He was happily married to his high school sweetheart, Janice (LaPerriere) Giroux for 49 years. Norm was born in Waterbury, CT to the late Beatrice (Brisson) and Edward Giroux.
Norm graduated from Marianapolis Prep School and went on to earn a Bachelor degree in accounting from Sacred Heart University and an MBA from the University of New Haven. He enjoyed a career of 33 years at Pratt & Whitney holding a variety of roles in finance, accounting, and procurement.
Norm was a wonderful, loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed traveling to many places in the US and abroad with Jan and especially their late winter getaways to Marco Island, FL in recent years. Norm and Jan built many fond memories while on vacation at their Cape Cod home with family and friends. Fishing trips and golf with his sons were some of his favorite times.
Norm enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, fishing, and golfing. Annual golf trips with his “Pipe Dream” buddies and friendly rounds with Jeff and Steve were filled with laughs, jokes, and smiles. Norm also had the distinction of having two holes-in-one.
Norm was a proud past Commander of the American Legion, Kiltonic Post 72 in Southington. He truly enjoyed volunteering for many community events and especially the Brick Paver project and Golf tournaments hosted at Hawk’s Landing.
