Vivian G. Powers

Vivian G. Powers, 95, of Southington, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at the Southington Care Center. She was the beloved wife of George M. Powers. Born January 24, 1925 in Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Yvonne (Raiche) Guimond.

She was a parishioner of St. Dominic Church. Vivian was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her husband George of 70 years, she leaves her children, Kathleen Donahue of Southington, Nancy Salamon and husband Frank of Southington, Keith Powers and spouse Jacqueline of Rockport, MA, Christopher Powers Guimond and wife Jocelyn of PR and Steven Powers of Bristol; her brother Joseph Paul Guimond of Southington; nine grandchildren, Sarah Kastner, Jocelin Donahue (Greg), Emily Sousa (Peter), Bailey Berardino (Jason), Michael Donahue, Frazer Powers, Caitlin Powers (Mary), Ámbar Powers Géliga and Sol Powers Géliga; five great-grandchildren, Eleanor Jones, Abigail Berardino, June Sousa, Joseph Berardino and Bennett Sousa; April Powers (Frazer & Caitlin’s mother) and Harry Kastner (Sarah & Bailey’s father).

She was predeceased by an infant son, Lawrence Powers; son-in-law, Mike Donahue and three brothers, Leon A., Gerard and Normand Guimond. Vivian’s family would like to thank the staff at the Southington Care Center for their loving care and concern shown to their mother.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Dominic Church, 1070 Flanders Rd., Southington. Masks and social distancing are required. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington has been entrusted with the arrangements.
