Mr. Zmidzinski was born in Lwow, Poland in 1925. He attended primary and secondary schools in Lwow. He studied at Salvatorian Father's Minor Seminary in Mikolow, Upper Silesia, Poland until the outbreak of WWII.
He was a charter member, commander, and national officer of the Polish Veterans of WWII, Post #40. Instrumental in the placement of a plaque commemorating Polish Armed Forces in the West at City Circle Park in Perth Amboy, NJ. A member of American Legion Post 45, Knights of Columbus - Third Degree, the Perth Amboy ZPA, and Market Square Seniors. Served as usher, lector, Eucharistic Minister, trustee, for the diocesan synod, secretary and treasurer for St. Stephen's Holy Name Society, and a member of the Southport Senior Center.
He was predeceased by his parents Irena and Aleksander Zmidzinski, granddaughter Stephanie Kushner, grandson Michael Zmidzinski, wife Anna Teresa Zmidzinski, and sister Irena Makomaska.
Survivors include his son Andy Zmidzinski, a daughter Elizabeth Kushner and husband Robert, grandsons Robert Alexander Kushner, Matthew Michael Kushner and wife Katie, Joseph Andrew Kushner; and four great-grandchildren, McKayla, McKenzie, Madison, and Max.
A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Peacock - Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service in Southport.
