Mr. James was born August 29, 1944 in Houston, Texas, the son of the late Howard Andrew James and Anna Louise Kennedy James. He was a loving father who always supported his children in all their decisions. John and his wife Jeri had recently moved to North Carolina. He worked for Aera Energy in Bakersfield, California and in the Oil and Gas industry for over 30 years. John was a 1968 graduate of Sam Houston State University. John loved being on the ocean as well as reading engineering and technical publications.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Jeri James; five children, Leslie Kolkmeier and husband Robert, Lisa Dibala and husband Charles, Marci James, Brian James, Harry James and wife Jillian; and five grandchildren, Ryann Kolkmeier, Zachary Dibala, Nathan James, Jackson James, and Lauren James.
A private family memorial service will be held later this summer.
