My deepest sympathy is expressed to the family of Joan Balkenberg.May your fond memories of her help to sustain you during these moments of sorrow is my prayer. I was privileged to work with Joan, our librarian, at Lamar Elementary School in H.I.S.D. where our offices were adjacent to each other. I will always remember her dedication to our students and her willingness to work with me the school nurse.
