Mary A Winkelman

Mary A. Winkelman, 98, passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 28, 2018. Mary was born in Newark, New Jersey and was a resident of Jefferson Township for 48 years. She is a past president of the New Jersey Chapter of the Columbiettes. Mary loved her Irish heritage and travelling but most of all she loved being with her family. Whenever there was an opportunity, she gave unselfishly to many charitable causes. She will be missed by many. Mary is predeceased by her beloved husband of 40 years, the late Frank Winkelman. She is survived by her devoted children: John Winkelman and his wife Cheryl, Frank Winkelman and his wife Katherine and Eric Winkelman. Mary also has 4 loving grandchildren and 7 loving great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Eileen Beesley. Friends may call from 9:30-10:30am Wednesday at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St, Sparta, NJ 07871. A funeral mass will follow at 11am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 204 Espanong Rd, Lake Hopatcong, NJ 07849. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her name to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

I worked as a nurse at Barnhill Care Center and several days a week worked in the Blair Unit. I loved your mother, she always put a smile on my face. She was always sweet to me and told me that there was a special place in heaven for me.
