I was a Caregiver for Mrs Sadie in 2011. Mr Gene and Mrs Sadie were an amazing couple. Mr Gene's dedication to Mrs Sadie was true love. His only concern in life was that Mrs Sadie was well cared for. The last time I spoke with Mr Gene was in 2013. I will miss him and Mrs Sadie every day for the rest of my life. Mr Gene and Mrs Sadie were more than clients, they were friends. May they rest in peace! The photo is of Mr Gene, Mrs Sadie and Faye Johnson a great friend and helper for Mrs Sadie. Taken at the Valley Mall in June of 2013.

My Dad went to school with Gene and was the best man at Gene and Sadie's wedding! I grew up listening to stories about their friendship. I know he was a good and kind man, and will be missed. My mom, sister and I send our thoughts to Gene's family.

I had the pleasure of knowing Gene and Sadie through my job as a caregiver. I came to the house every weekday and took Sadie to the mall for her coffee and walking. Gene was one of the nicest most caring people I've ever met. We enjoyed watching his favorite cooking show over lunch everyday before I went home. He and Sadie even came to my Wedding in September 2011 and won the "prize" of one of the bouquets for being the longest married couple in attendance. I will miss him very much! I'm glad to have known him, Rest In Peace Gene <3

I'm sorry that Mom and I won't be able to make the service - Mom is flying home from Reno and we will just miss the timing. Please know our hearts are with you and we will miss Gene (even though we did not catch up often).

Gene left his legacy in the hearts and minds of everyone he met, and in the soil
Of eastern Washington. He is as Honest as a Montana summer day is long.
As steller example of commitment and devotion. The neighbor that everyone
Depended upon for help, and comforting advice. A true American Hero !!!

I remember my parents getting together with Gene and Sadie from our earliest days living on the prairie. They always said that you would never know better people...just plain good people that knew how to laugh and always kept their priorities right. I pray that the good memories will help ease the pain of Gene's passing.
