Florence Irene Courtney

Florence "Mickey" Courtney passed away at a local Long-term care facility on January 9th, 2019 at the age of 99 years. The funeral service will be held at 12 noon, January 17th, 2019 at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home. Visitation on request. Burial will follow the funeral at Fairmont Cemetery. Mickey was born in Barber, MT on August 9th, 1919. She graduated from Lewis & Clark High School and continued on to receive degrees in; business accounting, typing, and stenography (Gregg Shorthand). Mickey was married to Charles "Chuck" Courtney on June 14, 1947; they were married 53 years. She worked as a Secretary at Seattle First National Bank for 17 years. She enjoyed Dancing, Arts and Crafts and writing Poetry. She was also actively involved in Day out for the Blind of Spokane. Mickey is survived by several grandchildren, her sister Pearle "Toots" Benedict, her son Ralph Courtney, and many nieces and nephews. Mickey is predeceased by her brother, Harry "Red" Bauer, two of her three sisters, Wilma Powell and Hazel "Penny" McCarty, and her daughter Julie Lyons. The family wishes to thank Day out for the Blind of Spokane for all the dances.
