Kenneth Bryan Winston died on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2019. He was born on April 26, 1955 in Boise, Idaho to Dale and Betty Winston. He was the third of five children. He grew up in the Bay Area of California and graduated from Leigh High School (Los Gatos) in 1973. He served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Sydney, Australia. He joined the US Air Force as a meteorologist and retired from active duty in 1999 after serving for 20 years. He then switched from outdoor weather to indoor HVAC sales where he had much more control over the weather. He met the love of his life, Tamra Barnes while stationed at Fairchild AFB and they were married for time and eternity in the Oakland LDS Temple on October 14, 1980. Military life took them to Germany, Idaho, Illinois, Michigan, Japan, Florida (along with deployments to Turkey and the Philippines), and finally back to Spokane. Every place they lived was the "best place" because of the people they met, the good friends they made, and the adventures they had. He was never happier than when he saw the smile on Tami's face when he finished a project for her (no matter how ridiculous!) He enjoyed spending time with her, projects with his kids, and hugs and tickles for their grandchildren. We know the grass will definitely be greener on the other side because of the meticulous way he always cared for his lawns. He left a legacy of service, hard work, self-sufficiency, and fun times. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Tami, and their children; Bryan (Rachel), Jared (Amanda), Nathan (Andrea), Aaron (Andrea), Kira (Jared), Caitlin (Chris) and 26 1/2 grandchildren; Ella (11), Brayden (10), Spencer (9), America (9), Jack (9), Milee (8), Brooklyn (8), Briar (7), Cienne (6), Colter (6), Christopher (5), Drew (5), Haven (4), Hazel (4), Landon (4), Anthony (4), Lucia (4), Nora (3), Aynslee (3), Bridger (2), Gwen (2) Sydney (1), Whalen (1), Max (9 mo), Ethan (5 mo), Leo (1 mo), TBA... He is also survived by his mother Betty, and siblings Vicki, Linda, Cyndy and Curtis. His father Dale (93) preceded him in death by only a few hours in Meridian, ID.
