Loraine Mary Bryant-Rapier

Loraine, aged 76, passed away after a two year battle with cancer. Loraine was an avid sewer and quilter and was married to the late Steve Rapier. Together, they bought a barn and doing the work themselves converted it to a home where they lived for 30 years.

Loraine had two children, a daughter and son and a daughter-in-law and six grandchildren all living in the U.K. Steve and Loraine also shared step grandchildren here in the USA. Her ashes will be placed with her beloved Steve and there will not be a funeral service.

I will always remember my trip over to USA with Sue to visit you and Steve, we had such an adventure - archery, firing guns, visiting Kellog, Murray going up a mountain and horse riding !!

I am saying goodbye, but you will not be forgotten! I love using our wedding present of the quilt which is lovingly  used every winter.
Thank you for your generosity in the past   You
will be appreciated for years to come.

I am looking forward to Sue and my trip to Rome. You will be very much in our thoughts and memories then.

Its been such a shame that COVID has stopped Sue coming to see you. It's going to be tough for her, but don't worry I will be by her side .

Much Love

I miss my friend and neighbor of 30 years. We saw each other almost daily sharing things about our children, grandchildren, recipes, samplings of each other's cooking, laughter and tears.
Lucy, your favorite 2nd dog, still will run down towards your house when I call out to her, "Lucy, where is Loraine!"
Rest in peace with Steve and Daisy, my friend.

Loraine was my guiding light and inspiration through a very unhappy time of my life, she helped me when I needed it most.
She continued to bring happiness and joy throughout the years. A phone call from Loraine would always leave me smiling. Her thoughtful gifts sent with so much love brought so much joy to me. I will treasure them forever.
We may of been hundreds of miles apart but I will miss her more than words can say, she will always have a special place in my heart.
All my love Vivienne

I will always have fond memories of Loraine. Growing up we spent lots of time with her and her lovely family. She was the talented lady that made my beautiful bridesmaid dresses. I am lucky enough to own some of her beautiful quilted work. She was always thinking of others and always ready to help. Gone but never forgotten. Always in my thoughts. Rest in Peace Loraine. Thinking of you Sue and Paul xxx

I have so many wonderful memories and times I’ve spent with Loraine. I truly loved and respected her. She was so busy living life, working hard, helping others, with a loving thoughtful heart. Words can’t express how much she will be missed.

Loraine was a one of a kind person and to me, a fun and funny aunt, who always remembered birthdays and holidays, with beautiful handmade cards. My daughter received one in the mail for her 13th birthday the very day Loraine passed, something we’ll treasure always. I’m so grateful to have said my goodbye in person the day before her passing.

We have many great memories together, including this photo I took at Murray Cemetery. I’m uncertain the year, but probably in the early 90’s and includes all people I adore, Loraine, Steve and “Granny”, whom now have all passed, and my hero of a mom, Faye. I love you Loraine, and Steve and Granny, may you again be embracing in love.
