Marilyn was born on December 9, 1934, to Edward and Bertha Boivin. After graduating from Coeur d’Alene high school, she earned her degree from North Idaho College. Marilyn then began at Kaiser Trentwood, where she worked for nearly 30 years. After leaving Kaiser, she went to work at Safeco, where she retired after 20 years. It was while she was at Kaiser that she met her husband, Eddie Basler. They were married in 1958, and soon moved to the Spokane Valley, where they raised their daughter Heather. They were married 58 years, until Ed’s death in 2016.
Marilyn was a master gardener, with a passion for roses. She enjoyed spending summers at their cabin on Lake Coeur d’Alene, loved traveling the world, going to casinos, and was an avid reader. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Bertha Boivin, her husband Edgar Basler, and grandson Ian Anderson. She is survived by her daughter Heather Anderson, grandchildren, Amy Madison and Ryan Anderson. Great grandchildren Connor, Kyndelle, Leynna and Cade. There will be a celebration of life held in the late spring for all who wish to attend.
