Anton Grandic, 93, of Spring Hill, Florida went to be with the Lord and his beloved Wife Anna on April 28th, 2019 in Spring Hill. Tony was born on May 20th, 1925 in Baska, Croatia to Nikola and Jorja Grandic. Tony married Anna in New York on September 29th, 1956 and were together till her passing. Tony was a devoted traditional Roman Catholic and taught himself Latin, he is also remembered for being a devoted Father and Husband. He fought in World War 2 with Tito’s Partisans, and after the war joined the fledgling Yugoslav navy. Tony immigrated to the United States in 1955 to New York where he met his future wife. He moved to Florida in February 1967 where he was a long time employee and plant foreman of the Water Pollution Control department for the city of Clearwater, and upon retirement moved to Spring Hill. Tony was known as an avid story teller, enjoyed cooking and loved to play his accordion and sing. He was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Seminary. Tony is survived by his Sister Maria Sale, his Daughters Georgia (Michael) Harrington, and Maria (Wayne) Luecke and Son Frank (Beth) Grandich. Tony is also survived Grand-Daughter Sara (Lyndon) Garcia and Grand-Sons Matthew, Zach, Luke and James. Tony is predeceased by his wife Anna, brothers Ivan Grandic, Nikola Grandic, and his sister Kathy Grandic. Tony is also predeceased by his faithful dogs Lexie and Delta, as well as many other beloved pets. A Visitation will be held at Turner Funeral Home, 14360 Spring Hill Dr, Spring Hill, FL 34609 on Friday, May 10th, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Most Holy Trinity Seminary 1000 Spring Lake Hwy, Brooksville, FL 34602 on Saturday, May 11th at 11:00 AM with Burial to follow after at Florida Hill Cemetery.
