Frank Andrew Danihel of Spring Hill, Florida passed away on April 12, 2021 at the age of 92. After several months of declining health Frank died peacefully at home with his daughter and wife at his side.
Frank was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 9, 1929 to his mother Julia Kovar and his father Frank Danihel. He was the middle child with 2 older sisters and 2 younger brothers. Growing up during the Depression Frank had to start working at an early age to help make ends meet for his Mother. He left High School to join the Navy where he learned his trade of Stationary Engineer. He loved to learn and was self taught.
He married Rose Blasi in 1949 in New York and in 1952 they welcomed their daughter Karen. As an only child Karen was the center of their life and she knew only pure love from them. Frank retired from his career as a Stationary Engineer for the Board of Education in New York and moved to Florida where they enjoyed their family, wonderful friends and traveling.. Frank and Rose were married for 56 years.
After the his beloved wife Rose passed in 2005, he began a new chapter with Shirley., whom he spent the last 15 years of his life with. They traveled, danced, played bridge and enjoyed their friends and church. He gained an extended family that he welcomed into his life. Frank and Shirley were wonderful companions took good care of each other.
He could do just about anything – carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, etc. He also had many hobbies, creating beautiful pieces of furniture, stained glass and was an avid gardener. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He lived a life of service to others and was the caregiver to all.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose, his parents and siblings. He is survived by his daughter, Karen Amsler, his wife Shirley, his granddaughter Shanna Murray, his great grandchildren Trey and Alora and his son in law John Murray as well as many beloved family and friends.
A Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date.
