Springfield, IL-Alexander S. Potylchansky, 91, of Springfield, formerly of Smolensk, Russia, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019 at 11:34 am in the emergency room at Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Smolensk, Russia, January 10, 1928 the son of Saveliy Y. and Yeugeniya (Nemenchic) Potylchansky. He was educated in Russia, earning his degree in engineering. He specialized in aviation engineering. Alexander came to the United States in 1994 and became best friends with Gelina Meklina who survives him. He is also survived by his daughter, Katerina (husband Sergey) Olifiruk of Springfield, his granddaughter, Lyudmila (husband Nuno) Cardoso of Washington, D.C., and his extended family in Houston Texas and Russia. Arrangements are in the care of Bisch and Son Funeral Home. Services will be private. Cremation Rites will be accorded by the Bisch Crematory. In his memory, those who wish may direct memorial contributions to a charity of choice or provide a random act of kindness.

Springfield, IL-Alexander S. Potylchansky, 91, of Springfield, formerly of Smolensk, Russia, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019 at 11:34 am in the emergency room at Memorial Medical Center.
He was born in Smolensk, Russia, January 10, 1928 the son of Saveliy Y. and Yeugeniya (Nemenchic) Potylchansky. He was educated in Russia, earning his degree in engineering. He specialized in aviation engineering.
Alexander came to the United States in 1994 and became best friends with Gelina Meklina who survives him. He is also survived by his daughter, Katerina (husband Sergey) Olifiruk of Springfield, his granddaughter, Lyudmila (husband Nuno) Cardoso of Washington, D.C., and his extended family in Houston Texas and Russia.
Arrangements are in the care of Bisch and Son Funeral Home. Services will be private. Cremation Rites will be accorded by the Bisch Crematory.
