He was born on December 8, 1943 in Springfield, the son of Adrian and Guyla (Wells) McCarty. He married Mary Wilkey on February 18, 1967 in Virginia, IL and she survives. Jack worked for 23 years at Fiat Allis in Springfield. He later worked for CWLP in Springfield. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Springfield, the Elks Club, Amvets, liked to bowl, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Besides his wife Mary, he is survived by a brother Adrian (wife Judy) McCarty Jr., a sister JoAnn (husband Bill) Mackiney, both of Springfield, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers, Richard McCarty and James McCarty.
Services are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West, Springfield. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 18, 2019 from 10 am until time of the funeral service at 11 am at First United Methodist Church, 2941 S. Koke Mill Rd., Springfield. A private interment will be held at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia, IL.
