Mildred Mae Johnston, 84, of Springfield, died on July 30, 2013. Mildred was born January 7, 1928 in Springfield, the daughter of Roy Gates, Sr. and Elma Hart Gates. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; parents; daughter, Susan; son, Robert; brothers, Roy, George, and Phineas Gates; and sister, Judy Shadden Bradshaw. She is survived by sons, Charles and John (Carol) Johnston; brother, Fred (Colleen) Gates; and grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to: Alzheimer's Association
