Ging was born on January 28, 1936 to Harold and Helen Dewing. Ging and her sister, Carol “Tarr” Dewing, enjoyed spending time and traveling together throughout their lives until Tarr passed away in 2001.

She retired in 1999.
Ging also worked in the restaurant and bar business for several establishments. She worked at the Warehouse Restaurant in several capacities, including manager, then worked as a cocktail waitress at Mr. B’s, Sorry Charlie’s and D.H. Brown’s, serving patrons, including many from the legislature whom Ging would see coming across the street, then arrange for their favorite cocktail to greet them at their table soon after they walked through the door.
Besides visiting and talking with her family, Ging enjoyed visiting friends at her favorite restaurants, D&J Café, MCL and Fritz’s.
