Stanley E. Weimer, age 86, formerly of Gap, PA passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at the Greenspring Retirement Living of Springfield, VA. He was the husband of Nancy J. Stains Weimer with whom he celebrated 59 years of marriage with on November 28th.
He was born in Lancaster, son of the late Walter M. & Miriam A. Doersom Weimer. He was a member of Bellevue Presbyterian of Gap, where in the past he was Sunday School Superintendent, trustee, usher, and sang in the choir. He graduated from McCaskey High School class of 1951. During his youth he set up bowling pins at the Conestoga Recreation Center, and then worked at RCA, the former Sinclair Refining Company of Lancaster, Green Giant of Parkesburg and, Kerr Glass of Lancaster retiring in 1996. In retirement he provided transportation for Levi Esh companies and associates, for 18 years. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed bowling, playing golf, watching sports and spending time with his family.
Surviving besides his wife Nancy, he is survived by 3 children: Rustin V. husband of Beth Weimer of Raleigh, NC, Gregory J. husband of Kristen Weimer of Palmetto, FL, Martha J. Peter wife of Robert Swetz of Springfield, VA, 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, 7 step grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters: June Riggle and Helen Edgell both of Lancaster, Pa.
Funeral service will take place at the Bellevue Presbyterian Church, 810 Newport Avenue, Gap, PA, 17527, on Monday, January 28th at 12 Noon with Pastor JT Holderman officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 11 a.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Bellevue Presbyterian Church.
