Passed away peacefully at the Missouri Veteran's Home in St. Louis, with his family by his side.
Denny, as he wanted to be called was an incredible person and will be missed by so many for his strength, dignity and impeccable character.
Raised in Hermann, MO, Denny grew up on a farm and learned to love the beauty of nature in the growing and harvesting of crops, hunting, fishing, flowers, trees and rolling hill sides.
After attending St. George Catholic School for 12 years, Denny went to Benedictine college for one year, and finished his bachelor's degree at Warrensburg College, majoring in engineering.
The years of 1968 & 1969 were spent serving our country in Vietnam. Sargeant Apprill was a ranger in the 1st Air Calvary Division. He was wounded during a fire fight and received the Purple Heart Medal along with many others.
After returning home from Vietnam, He went to work for a few different companies but finally decided on a long career with the United States Postal Service. He retired from the USPS after 30 years of service in April 2004.
Denny was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2001. He battled this disease courageously until it took his life on June 30, 2013.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, Daughter, Rhonda, Son, Scott, Granddaughter, Alexandra and Grandson, Nicholas, other nieces and nephews and many friends who loved him very much.
Denny, may God hold you tight forever. You will be missed and you are still loved.
