Kenneth LeRoy Rusk, of St. Charles, MO, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the age of 85.
Kenneth was born in Denver, Colorado to Walter Charles and Sarah Hazel Rusk who preceded him in death. He was the loving husband of over 17 years to Tonia Rusk (nee: Stott); devoted father of Todd Rusk (Susan); treasured grandfather of Tyler and Brendan Rusk; great grandfather of Jaxon Rusk; and dear brother of the late Donald Rusk and the late Barb Adlersfluegel. Ken is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Kenneth proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He then went on to work as a Lineman for Union Electric where he worked for over 43 years, eventually earning the title of Supervisor. He retired from Union Electric in 1997. Throughout his life, Ken was very active in his community. He was a youth baseball and soccer coach for several years, which allowed him to coach many of his son’s sports teams. He enjoyed volunteering his time at both the Missouri Botanical Garden and the Forest Park Golf Course. Ken was a also previous member of Immanuel United Methodist Church as well as a very active member of the Methodist Men’s group. For some time, he had the privilege of serving as both Treasurer and as President for the Methodist Men. He was also a member of the Greater St. Louis Iris Society and one of the founding members of the St. Louis Blueliners (the official NHL booster club for the St. Louis Blues). Ken will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers Memorial donations may be made in Kenneth’s name to the National Stroke Association or the American Diabetes Association.
