David Joseph Groocock

GROOCOCK, David Joseph- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David on January 4, 2012 at St.Catharines General Hospital at the age of 71. Survived by his loving wife Daarla. Sadly missed by his children Sheri-Lee (Luke) Ferrari and Terry (Sarah) Groocock. Deeply cherished by his sister Barbara (Jerry) Bond. Forever in the hearts of Granddaughter Karalina Ferrari, nephews David Groocock and Colin Neale. Much loved by nieces Linda (Betty) Groocock and Erin(Chad) Neale-Rolstad. David is Predeceased by brother Jimmy in 2008. After 37 years employed at GM, David enjoyed spending his time fishing and golfing. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Palliative Care Unit of St.Catharines General for their care and compassion. He will be missed by many. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to visitation at Church of the Transfiguration (320 Glenridge Ave.) on Monday January 9th, 2012 from 10 until 11a.m. A Memorial Service celebrating David’s life will follow at 11a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Palliative Care Unit of St.Catharines Hospital would be appreciated by the family. Sorry to hear about the passing Mr.Groocock. I remember him making an ice rink in his backyard , every year on Kingston Bay for the kids. It was nothing but great childhood memories playing hockey on the rink with Terry.Thinking of you and your family at this difficult time.Brian,John,Karen and Wally Baines.
