Mary Doris Patin was born September 6, 1954 to the late John Bayard Patin and Eva Delta Hayes Patin Richard. She passed away peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2014 at her residence, with her family at her side.

Mary was in retail management most of her life, most recently as an Assistant Manager with Piggly Wiggly in St. Martinville. Outside of work, she enjoyed swimming, and going dancing with her friends at Pat’s of Henderson. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished that time with them. Mary leaves behind many fond memories that will forever be kept in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her children, Costa “Toby” Latiolais, III and fiancée April Adams of Loreauville, Karen Latiolais of Coteau Holmes, and Kory Latiolais of St. Martinville; nine grandchildren, Chelsy Arceneaux, Toby Latiolais, Shaunna Latiolais, Shane Adams, Megan Latiolais, Kaylee Latiolais, Cassie Latiolais, Koby Latiolais and Kortni Latiolais; six great-grandchildren, Camden, Caigen and Carsen Arceneaux, Isabella and Tucker Sonnier, and Ashton Viator; and her brother, Joseph “Big T” Richard and Tina of Scott.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother John Roy Patin.

Serving as pallbearers will be Costa Latiolais, Jr., Costa Latiolais, III, Kory Latiolais, Joseph Richard, John Patin, and Dale Babin.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Directors and staff of Hospice of Acadiana for the care and compassion given to our mother.

My deepest sympathy in the loss of your dear mother/grandmother. You are all in my thoughts and prayers as I ask God to be with each of you as you go through this difficult time. May she rest in peace. I went to school with Doris and always enjoyed talking to her about all of you when I'd see her at Piggly Wiggly. With sympathy,
