COLLOM, Patricia "Patty". It is with great sadness that the family of Patricia "Patty" Collom announces her passing on August 10, 2018 after a long illness at the age of 77 years. She was born in New York on December 21st 1940 to Dorothy and Theodore Sturgeon, She grew up in Jacksonville, FL, graduating from Terry Parker HS and later obtained a BS in nursing from the University of Florida. She practiced nursing for many years in Gainesville and in Tampa. Patty will be remembered as a woman of many talents, of great compassion, of immense humor, of sharp wit, and as a connoisseur of eccentric hats. All who knew her will miss her warmth, her love, her laughter, and the great joy of living that she shared so freely with everyone. Patty is lovingly remembered by her husband of 32 years Charles Collom, her children, stepchildren and their spouses, John and his wife Cathy, Robert, Claude and his wife Kris, Nathan and his wife Jo-Anna. Patty is also survived by her ten grandchildren, Parker, Zachary, Mackenzie, Sophie, Jacquie, Sennett, Evan, Maddox, Josie and Emily, her sister Cynthia and brother-in-law James Pegram. She is also forever to be missed by her "Amigirls" Cheryl and Stephanie, and by the hundreds of extended family and friends for whom she was a source of boundless love and inspiration. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday August 18, 2018 at the TradeWinds Island Grand Resort 5500 Gulf Blvd, St Pete Beach, FL 33706 with Rev. John T DeBevoise officiating.
