Loving, kind, and incredibly joyful; Mildred Toledano Villamayor, age 76, of Houston, Texas was born on February 16, 1947, in Dumaguete, Central Visayas, Philippines. Bringing light and happiness to everyone around her; our world was truly dimmed when she left us on August 31, 2023.
She shared a beautiful life full of laughter and love with her greatest and only love, Jesse Villamayor. Together, they were blessed with four children, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandson, who were the pride and joy of her life.
Mildred was always eager to lend a helping hand, especially to those in need. Incredibly warm at heart and caring in nature, her inviting hugs made you feel unconditional love and support; for many of us, she was truly a beacon of light through the darkest of times.
Radiating compassion and kindness, she had a unique ability to make you feel beautiful through her words of affirmation, helping guide you to find the beauty within yourself. Her loving smile, endearing joy, and zest for life were truly captivating. The life of every party, her boisterous humor as she’d often sidebar to tell us her grandchildren, nephews, and nieces to go to the Philippines to become a celebrity, and she’d happily be our manager in her unmistakable accent always uplifting us and putting a smile on our faces.
Believe it or not, Mildred’s talents extended beyond her kindness, compassion, and humor. It's been said that food is the key to the heart; if that’s the case, Mildred lives rent-free within all of us. Her delectable dishes were greeted with anticipation by family and friends alike, and her cooking skills were envied by many. Whether it was a large gathering, an intimate family dinner, or an unexpected visit; “Have you eaten yet?” was usually the greeting after that welcome home hug. Food from her heart was food for the soul. Mildred’s cooking brought people together and created beautiful memories that live on.
Mildred Toledano Villamayor’s departure has left a void in the lives of those who loved her. However, her spirit will forever remain alive in the hearts of her family and friends. Her legacy of love, kindness, and joy will continue to inspire and guide us all.
May she rest in eternal peace. We love you and we will miss you.
