Rosejean T. Castriota, 9/20/28 - 02/24/20, was born in the Bronx to Joseph and Teresa Genovese Castriota. She was predeceased by her beloved siblings Liborio (Libby), Marie, and Eugene. Her very close family provided her many happy years. She died in Stamford, Connecticut.
Rosejean received her undergraduate degree at Hunter College and her Master’s Degree from Fordham University. She remained an intellectual and a student of history until the end of her life. She enjoyed music, dancing and the arts.
Her lifelong career of 50 years started in a Catholic School in the Bronx and then moved to Mount Vernon High School in 1967. After retirement from the high school, she continued to teach at Mercy College for about ten years. She loved teaching American history especially. Her reputation as an excellent, but demanding teacher is long-lasting.
She is survived by an extended family and her dear friend, Jean Nugent. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, Bronxville, NY at 9:45 on Thursday, February 27.
