'A Good Simple Woman Who Never Complained'

Paulette Auten Evans, age 71, fought a good fight then went to be with her Lord and Savior at her home in Gastonia on Friday ~ February 28, 2020. Paulette was a homemaker most of her life who loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She was a thrifty lady who could take nothing and make something out of it. Her family is going to miss her phone calls and visits. Paulette was a friend to many and is going to missed by them and her family.

Paulette leaves behind her son: Shannon Walker of Garrison, Texas; two daughters and finace': Denise Lucas and Dean Lancaster of Gastonia, North Carolina, Chanda Crocker of Dallas, North Carolina; three brothers and daughter in law: Jim Lee Auten of Charlotte, North Carolina, Kim and Renae Auten of Mount Holly, North Carolina, Tim Auten of Oklahoma; five grandchildren: Mark Allen Ball II and wife Brooke, Tiffany Lucas Noel and husband Joshua, Tyler Lucas, Shannon Walker, Jeffery Walker and Sierra Robinette; best friend: Mary Keeter of Gastonia, North Carolina.

She was the daughter of the late Jim Auten and Ponzell Dennis Auten. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband Daryl Evans.

A graveside and committal service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday ~ March 3, 2020 at Hillcrest Gardens, 1509 Charles Raper Jonas Highway, Mount Holly, North Carolina 28120 with Kim Auten and Mark Allen Ball II delivering words of hope and comfort to Paulette's family and friends. Active pallbearers are Dean Lancaster, Mark Allen Ball II, Joshua Noel, Luke Auten, Tyler Lucas and Jonah Auten.

The family will gather for a private viewing in the Chapel at 11:00 AM at Carothers Funeral Home, 412 South Main Street, Stanley, North Carolina.

Grandma, I will miss you so dearly. I’ll miss your contagious laugh and the way you could always turn my mood around. Such a Godly woman who was a role model to everyone’s lives she touched and we all have so much to learn from you. I’m just glad you are no longer in pain and enjoying Heaven!
