

She was born to the late Jane and William Boyle on May, 28, 1927 in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. Jo moved with her family to Staten Island as a child.
She married Edward D. McMahon in 1946, and they lived on Staten Island for fifty-seven years before relocating to New Jersey. Jo is survived by four children: Kenneth McMahon; Lorraine McEvoy; Donna Colabroy; and James McMahon. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Jo is predeceased by her brother Walter Boyle and her sister, Roseanne Farris. There is one surviving sibling, her brother, Charles F. Boyle.
Jo had an interest and desire to preserve the history of Staten Island. For thirty years she served as a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of Historic Richmond Town.
Jo had a resilient and indomitable spirit. She was a swimmer, an avid reader, and enjoyed Broadway shows. Jo will be greatly missed by her family and all those who loved and knew her.
