Theresa Adamkiewicz

Passed away on March 19, 2013

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Longtime Staten Islander Theresa Adamkiewicz, 63, of Dongan Hills, a secretary who doted on her grandchildren and was an exceptional craftswoman, died Tuesday in Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze.

Born Theresa Dunadee in Brooklyn, she came to Staten Island at the age of 18 after graduating from Fort Hamilton High School.

She lived in Willowbrook and Tottenville before returning to Willowbrook. She resided in Dongan Hills for the past six months.

Ms. Adamkiewicz worked for the past 20 years as a secretary with United Cerebral Palsy of Staten Island.

In her leisure time, she enjoyed shopping and flower arranging.

She was also supremely adept at crafts.

"She was the crafts queen," said her family. "She was very talented."

Most especially, though, Ms. Adamkiewicz enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Michael and Raymond; a daughter, Michelle; a brother, Peter, and two grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a service there Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Queens.

To Theresa's Family:
I was so sorry to hear of her
passing. I will always remember
the summers she spent in Frankfort
with our family. She was like a
daughter to my mother. They always had a special bond between them.
Once again, please accept my
condolences for your loss.
