Born in Mariners Harbor, Mr. Polidore moved to Castleton Corners in 1955 and resided there for the rest of his life.
He is a graduate of Port Richmond High School.
Mr. Polidore worked for the city's fire department as a firefighter. He retired in 1989.
He also served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956.
He was an active member of St. Teresa's Parish, as well as a member of the Staten Island Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. He assisted with Wagner College's hockey team.
He enjoyed taking trips to the Jersey Shore and spending quality time with his family. According to the family, Mr. Polidore took pride in working as a handyman for his family and friends.
He is pre-deceased by two daughters, Michele and Jeanette Polidore, and a son, Vincent Polidore, Jr.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Patricia Polidore; his son, Mark Polidore; his brother, Michael Polidore; his sister, Rosemarie Colca; and a grandson.
The funeral will be on Thursday from Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Teresa's R.C. Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Brighton.
