Born August 18, 1933 in Johnstown, PA, he was the son of the late Charles R. and Catherine (Palm) Boxler. On August 16, 1958 he married Dorothea Elizabeth (Rish) Boxler. For several years he had coffee and cakes for the men at the Knights of Columbus meetings. Thomas located an old trailer, which the Knights of Columbus purchased and turned into a mobile dispenser for picnics, etc. He was always there to help with any projects within the church and community. Thomas will be sorely missed by all of his fellow Knights, family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, MaDee N. Boxler and two brothers, James and Charles R. Boxler, Jr. In addition to his loving wife, survivors include his children, Thomas R. Boxler, Jr. and Carla Floyd of Swoope, William J. Boxler and wife, Sara of Vinton; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred, Martha, Clara, Ethel, Mary Theresa, JoAnne and Peggy; one brother, Richard Boxler; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Please accept my condolences on the passing of your husband, dad, brother, and grandfather. It was an honor to have Tom as my uncle and he will always be remembered. I know that he is now with God for whom he had won many souls including his work with the Knights. He brought the Keep Christ in Christmas magnets to Harrisburg/Hershey, Pennsylvania area, and we've seen it spread from there even. May God embrace your family in comfort during this very tough time until we are all with him again for eternity.

I have been blessed to have known the Boxlers for many years. Not once can I recall Tom not having a warm smile on his face or a welcoming greeting when we met. Always first to help those in need, no matter the trials he was facing. Tom, you will be deeply missed by all. Our loss will be Heaven's gain!

May the souls of the faithful departed, through the Mercy of God, rest in peace.

We are so blessed to have the Boxlers as our neighbors. Over the past two years we have been so grateful to have them open their hearts and home to us. We love spending evenings on the porch talking. We consider them our family as well. Tom will be missed dearly. Our deepest condolences to the entire family. We love you all.

I'd like to express my sincerest condolences for your loss. My prayers are with you. Although I don't think I ever met Thomas Boxler, we are family. I remember visiting his parents' house in Johnstown as a child. I knew them as Aunt Catherine and Uncle Charles. My great grandmother was Uncle Charles's sister, Frances Mary Boxler Gilbert. My mother Margaret Calpin Kahler has fond memories of Tommy from her high school days.
