Eduardo, Sonny to his closest friends and family, was born on September 28, 1950 in the small Philippine town of Bugasong, Antique. His parents, Juan and Genoveva, encouraged Sonny, their youngest of three sons, to immigrate to the United States in 1970 for educational and professional opportunities. Sonny started his first major career at Valley Showcase and eventually owned his own business that specialized in construction, showcases, and custom cabinets. Later in his life, Sonny owned and managed several small businesses in the Philippines that created many jobs in his hometown.
As the youngest son of a farmer, Sonny loved to garden. He cared for a large backyard vegetable garden and eagerly shared the literal fruits of his labor with friends and acquaintances alike. In his semi-retirement, Sonny cared for a small hobby farm in the Philippines where he grew rice and assorted vegetables.
If there is anything that Sonny wanted to be remembered for, it was his good work ethic and his generosity.
Sonny is survived by his wife Patria, his three children, Patti, Joe, and Edward, his two grandchildren, Jolina and Joey, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Chapel Service will be held on Monday, January 6th, 2020 at the DeYoung Shoreline Chapel, 7676 Shoreline Dr. Stockton, CA, at 5 o’clock p.m. with his committal in Bugasong, Antique.
