Marjorie Evans

On Tuesday morning, October 16, 2018, our beloved mother passed peacefully from this world while sleeping in Chico, Ca. Marjorie Florence Evans (Marge) had just recently celebrated her 93rd birthday on July 12th.

Marge was born to Henry Walter and Isabel Florence Banister in their home in Thalia, Texas on July 12, 1925. She was the youngest of eight children, all of whom preceded her in passing from this world. Her beloved husband, Donald Keith Evans, also preceded her in death in 1984 after 38 years of marriage.

Marge and Keith had two children, Dennis Walter (wife Cheryl) and Carol Ann, (husband Nick Smith). She was the grandmother of five and the great grandmother of seven, one of whom, Logan, preceded her in death in 2002.

Marge was a faithful member of the Church of Christ her entire life and attended the Central Church of Christ in Stockton for more than 65 years. She loved to quilt, was renowned for her homemade pies, and spent almost every vacation fishing for steelhead on the Klamath River or ocean fishing for salmon near Brookings, Oregon. She also loved attending Ladies Bible Class, making homemade ice cream, playing dominoes, and having fun with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held in Stockton at DeYoung Shoreline Mortuary on Thursday, October 25th at 10:00 a.m., followed by internment at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi.

She will be forever missed and never forgotten. She was loved by all. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Central Church of Christ or Chester Community Chorus.
