Viola was born November 15, 1923 in Columbus, Ohio to the late William Ervin Scholl and Cora May (Weaver). They were both born and raised in West Virginia.
Viola married Burl Cantrell August 22, 1939 in Kentucky. Burl was her dream man as she said she wanted to marry a man with blond hair and blue eyes and not too much taller than her. They lived in Ohio until 1964, and then moved to Hobe Sound, FL to put their son, Robert Burl Cantrell in Christian high school. They had two married daughters in Ohio. Iona May (Cantrell) Hatten and Carolyn Ann (Cantrell) Basham. Burl went to Heaven on September 16, 1990.
They were saved in a wonderful revival at Seabreeze Wesleyan Methodist Church in Ohio in January 1950. When they were saved, they settled it to stay true to Jesus and make Heaven their home with God’s help. They were very active in the church in Ohio and Florida. In Florida, they did missionary work for nine years at Turks and Caicos Island and in the Dominican Republic for one summer.
Viola started a Seabreeze Missionary Society in 1971 and had it for 31 years, but had to give it up due to health reasons.
