Louie was born in Middletown Ohio on June 9, 1929 to Anna and Dominick Di Lorenzo. He was the youngest of 6 children. They moved to Miami when he was 7. He graduated from barber college in 1946.
He met his lifetime sweetheart, Mary Ann in 1947. They both immediately recognized their soulmate and were married within two years. They were blessed with 3 daughters, JoAnne, Nanette and Linda.
Louie was an old school barber and owned his own Barber Shop until he retired and closed it. They retired to Stuart, Florida. After his retirement, he continued working part time off and on at a shop in Stuart for several more years and even had a chair setup on his back porch.
He gave several of his grandchildren their first haircuts and passed his skills on to his oldest grandson, Jon.
Lou and Mary Ann were soulmates and were part of each other’s daily lives. They loved watching football (high school, college, pro) together which started with their Friday night date attending the University of Miami games with two other couples.
His daughters remember him always being active in some type of sport or activity. He would go hunting off of Kendall Drive, before there was Kendall as a location or Baptist Hospital. He built a boat to go fresh water fishing. He went fly fishing in the Everglades and fished in the keys off of the original seven mile bridge. Apparently there was a time of tennis but it was short lived. As part of a bowling league, he bowled a perfect game of 300.
He eventually took up golfing. He golfed whenever he could and when they retired in Stuart, they moved to a condo that had a golf course. He played the first tee time of the day and was the keeper of tee schedule and golf ball shed. He continued to play until his health wouldn’t let him.
Louie was predeceased by his wife and sweetheart of 71 years and survived by sister-in-law Sharon Mueller, oldest daughter JoAnne and son-in-law Ken Jewett, youngest daughter Nanette Banks, his other daughter Linda and husband Tom Cundy, ten (10) grandchildren, Jennifer (Joshua), Jonathan (Deanna), Melody, Maximilian, Priscilla, Kristen, Thomas and Matthew, eight (8) great-grandchildren, Zachary, Haven, Ethan, Emma, Peyton, James, Evelyn, Luke and a multiple of other family around the world.
