Born on April 14, 1941 in Camden, NJ, he was the son of the late Robert D. Tew and Cornelia L. (More), the loving brother of Carolyn and her husband John Crimmins of The Villages, FL, dear uncle of 2 nieces and their families, Elise and Tom DeGemmis of Lansdale, PA and Deanna Clarance and Tom LeBlanc of Sudbury, MA. He is also survived by 5 great nieces and nephews, 10 cousins, including Dick Swackhammer “Swack” and his wife Karen of Cranford, NJ and two special individuals who were like sons to him, James P. Marvel III and his family of Oklahoma City, OK and Bruce Gerry, Jr. of Auburn, ME. Fritz grew up in Haddonfield, NJ, graduated from Haddonfield High School in 1959, attended Moravian College in PA and served in the US Army and Reserves. He was a self employed Building and Renovations Contractor. Prior to his retirement, he was the Owner and General Manager of Birchwood Cottages, East Winthrop, ME. He attended various sport, home shows and fairs throughout New England for his other entrepreneurial ventures. Throughout his life he lived, loved and enjoyed the water, particularly McCaskill Island, Newboro Lake, Ontario, Cobbosseecontee Lake, Maine and Long Beach Island, NJ. Fred was well known for his love of German Shepherds. He was forever with a loyal companion by his side. At the time of his passing, “Maybe” and “Skittles” were his loyal buddies. Fred was a natural teacher and problem solver. He had a love of understanding how to do things, and then passed that knowledge along to everyone around him. Quote from a friend: “There are some people with such a presence in life, that they leave an echo after they depart.” Burial and Memorial Services will be private.
