Blane Ray Demeritt Sr.

Sulphur- Blane Ray Demeritt, Sr., 71 died Monday, October 4, 2021, in his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Sulphur. Blane enjoyed fishing, dancing, and especially enjoyed eating sweets. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and was previously a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Tina Menard Demeritt of Sulphur; his mother, Pauline Demeritt of Rosepine; his children, DeDe Demeritt Hebert of Vinton, Shannon Demeritt Bihm of Moss Bluff, Tiffanny Floyd Manuel of Sulphur, Timothy Floyd of Fairfax, California, Blane Demeritt, Jr. of Sulphur, Logan Demeritt of Many, and Kacie Demeritt of Sulphur; his siblings, Danny Demeritt and Marsha Lavergne, both of DeRidder; seventeen grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Jason Demeritt; his sister, Teri Jill Demeritt; and his grandson, Garrett Espinosa.

The family will have a private memorial service. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The family asks that memorial donations be made in Blane's memory to The American Cancer Society or Heart of Hospice. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
