Donelda C. Casteel

Donelda was born on August 5, 1940 to Clopha Conner and Olezema Guillory Conner. She was a graduate of LaGrange High School and began her banking career at Calcasieu Marine Bank, retiring from Cameron State Bank. She was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. She will be remembered in all of our hearts as a loving wife, mother, Maw Maw, and fun loving aunt that enjoyed family reunions and good country and Cajun music.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 15 years, Clarence "Ray" Casteel; her daughters, Caroline Dingler and Kathy Casteel and husband, Tracy; step-sons, Michael Casteel and wife, Dana, Doug Casteel and wife, Brandi, and Mark Casteel, all of Sulphur; her brother, Robert "RB" Conner and wife, Faye of Westlake; her grandchildren, William Laviolette, Tyler, Austin, and Bryan Casteel; step-grandchildren, Chaise Black, Courtney and Josh Price, Erin, Michael Joseph, Rachel and Jeffrey, Isaac, Andrew, Raymond Paul, and Brennon Casteel, and Alexis and Carrie Simon; three great-grandchildren, Franchesca Casteel, Emma Price, and Max Bruce; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Amos, Nolan, and Elmer Conner; sisters, Emily Gothreaux, Alberta Freston, Margaret LeBert, and Melba Kull; and the father of her daughters, William Joseph "Billy" Gregory.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 21 in St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss. The Rev. Edward Richard, MS will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Monday with a Cursillo Rosary at 7 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at
