Lawrence Goodly

He was a native of Mamou and had been a resident of Sulphur for the last 67 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #3015 where he assisted with Bingo. Lawrence enjoyed cooking, traveling, trail rides, working outdoors in his garden, and spending time with his family. He retired after 35 years of service as a Pipeline Technician with Citgo Petroleum.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Murl Goodly of Sulphur; his children, Barbara Cole of Lake Charles, Judy Holmes and husband, Freddie of Sulphur, Charles Edward Goodly of Houston, Texas, Sherry Ross and husband, Walter of Missouri City, Texas, Betty Cheatham and husband, Don of Pearland, Texas, Dr. Joseph Goodly and wife, Rachelle, of Missouri City, Texas, John Hardy, Jr. and wife, Gale of Sulphur, Joseph Hardy and wife, Gwen of Sulphur, Carl Hardy and wife, Mary of Sulphur, David Hardy of Lake Charles, and Angela Leger and husband, Eddy of Sulphur; his siblings, Morris Goodly of Lake Charles, Josephine Bellard of Lacassine, and Mary Davis of Houston, Texas; twenty-one grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Elizabeth Goodly; and siblings, Norris Goodly, Vorris Goodly, Horace Goodly, Otis Goodly, Rodney Goodly, and Marshall Goodly.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 30, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. The Rev. Edward Richard, M.S. will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Lake Charles under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
