She was a native and longtime resident of Vinton, LA and later lived in Massachusetts and eventually settled in Lafayette. Neysia was currently employed by L.S. Starrett Co. as a customer service rep & data entry. She was previously employed by Delta Downs Hotel Casino & Racetrack in Vinton as a surveillance agent. Neysia cherished her Catholic faith and was a member of the 3rd Order of St. Francis.
Neysia enjoyed spending time with family and friends, visiting historical sites, whale watching, fishing and crabbing. Yard work and gardening was a strong passion of hers as well. She always loved and showed a strong affection to her two dogs, Liebe and Abbie!
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 22 years, Stephen Sullivan of Lafayette; her father, Webster Joseph Trahan (Linda) of Beaumont, TX; her sister, Dana Trahan Batiste of Lafayette; her nephew, Daniel Batiste and great niece "the apple of her eye and source of daily joy", Delilah Jane Batiste of Lafayette; her stepsisters, Dana Williams (Dale) of Beaumont, TX and Chari Clifton (Louis) of Kemah, TX; her aunts, Patti Kircher-Okino (Kurt) of California, Wanda Stine (Jay) of Deridder, and Amelise LeJeune of Branch, LA ; and a host of extended family and friends.
Neysia is preceded in death by her mother, Martha Jane Babineaux, her grandparents, Charlie and Eva Babineaux; her uncle, Thomas Babineaux.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am on Friday, June 24, 2022 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Sulphur. Burial will follow in Niblett's Bluff Cemetery in Vinton. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Thursday, June 23, 2022 with a Rosary recited at 6 pm in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
